Alstom's contribution to Bouygues' quarterly net profit
Alstom published its results for FY2010/11 on 4 May 2011. On the basis of that
information, and given the difference between the end of the financial years of
Alstom (31 March) and Bouygues (31 December), Alstom's contribution to Bouygues'
net profit in Q1 2011 will amount to EUR23 million, compared with EUR115 million
in Q1 2010.
For information, in Q4 2010 Alstom's financial contribution to Bouygues' net
profit included a net provision of EUR66 million (Bouygues' share) for the
restructuring plan announced by Alstom in October 2010, recorded in Alstom's
financial statements for the second half of FY2010/11.
The EUR23-million contribution to first-quarter 2011 net profit will include the
reversal of this provision.
On the basis of currently available information, Alstom's financial contribution
to Bouygues' net profit in Q2 2011 may be estimated at EUR71 million, compared
with EUR101 million in Q2 2010.
In accordance with the calculation method used by Bouygues, the financial
contribution is assessed from Alstom's last published half-year figures (the
second half of FY2010/11) and adjusted for nonrecurring items relating to the
restructuring plans booked by Alstom in the same half-year and for Grid
acquisition costs.
First-quarter 2011 sales and earnings of the Bouygues group
will be published on 16 May 2011 at 5.45pm (GET)
