Eiffage wins a fifth contract on the Oldenburg-Wilhelmshaven railway line in
Germany worth EUR117 million
Eiffage, through its German subsidiary Eiffage Infra-Bau, has been awarded by
Deutsche Bahn the last contract for renovating the Oldenburg-Wilhelmshaven
railway line in Lower Saxony, Germany. The contract, realized through a
consortium led by Eiffage, covers a 10-kilometre section between Oldenburg and
Rastede. Eiffage will be handling almost EUR117 million of the total EUR151
million of planned works.
In addition to the comprehensive refurbishment of the tracks, the consortium's
teams will be in charge of earthworks, bridges and tunnels, level crossings and
noise barriers, all without interrupting rail traffic, which will be diverted
to an adjacent track. As the worksite lies within a dense urban area, dedicated
tracks will also be used to carry materials.
The works will be completed in 57 months for delivery in 2024.
This new contract reaffirms Deutsche Bahn's trust in the Eiffage Group. Of the
six contracts that made up the programme, five were awarded to the consortium
led by Eiffage. One of these was delivered in 2018, and three to be completed
in 2021. Ultimately, the consortium will have completed more than EUR300
million of works in the renovation of this line.
