For the quarter ended September 30th, 2018, Netgem announces a consolidated
revenue of EUR 7.9 million and a net revenue of EUR 4.0 million, bringing
consolidated revenue and net revenue for the first nine months of 2018 to EUR
31.0 million and EUR 15.0 million respectively (unaudited data).
The level of revenue confirms the trend of the first semester, with set top
boxes sales well below the levels anticipated by the Company for the year,
especially in international markets (outside Europe).
In the markets in which the Group has developed its OTT service offerings, the
results are more satisfactory:
- In the UK market, the Group's service offerings continue to broaden and
diversify their distribution, particularly with the launch of new
partnerships with Gibtelecom (Gibraltar) and the mobile operator Three UK.
The new generation of the service, allowing multi-screen access and Ultra
High Definition content support will be launched before the end of the year;
- In the French market, Vitis, a 51% subsidiary of Netgem, continues to grow
its turnover rapidly and is now marketing its content to more than 250,000
customers. Vitis has also finalized a new financing round of EUR 4 million
subscribed at 50/50 by Caisse des Dépôts and Réunicable. The offer also
continues to grow with the signatures of Comedy Central (Viacom) and
DisneyTEK. Vitis is not consolidated in Netgem's accounts.
Significant transactions and events, outlook
At the date of this press release, the consolidated cash position of the Group
amounts to EUR 10.2 million.
Given its results and in the context of a 2019-2020 strategic plan currently
under development, the Company plans to readjust its investments between its
OTT service business, with good growth prospects, and its activity of sales of
Set Top Boxes.
