Sunrise UPC GmbH / Key word(s): Miscellaneous Sunrise is now a sponsor and «supplier» of the Swiss Paralympic foundation. Just like all Swiss-Ski athletes, the Paralympic alpine ski team will fight for every hundredth of a second in «Levada» racing suits this winter. In addition to kitting out the ski team, Sunrise is also supporting two young Paralympic snowboard talents with its Rising Stars program. Swiss Paralympic organizes and funds the participation of top Swiss athletes with disabilities in the Paralympics and the European and World Championships, largely through sponsorships and donations. As a «supplier», Sunrise is now also providing Paralympic skiers with competition gear until the end of the 2026 Winter Games in Cortina. «Not only is Swiss Paralympic a perfect fit for our brand promise ‘Dream Big. Do Big.’, but also for our corporate culture. Diversity, equality and inclusion are part of our DNA. We want to inspire people to dream big and do big things as well as support them in doing so. Paralympic athletes serve as great role models for all of us and we are very proud to support them,» says André Krause, CEO of Sunrise. «The Sunrise motto should also give our athletes an extra boost of motivation for the upcoming season. We’re delighted that we have found a supplier who shares our values of ‘diversity and inclusion’ in Sunrise,» says Conchita Jäger, Secretary-General of Swiss Paralympic. The long-term commitment Sunrise has made with Swiss-Ski covers a very broad scope and aims to advance winter sports as a whole (from Swiss World Cup events through to youth and grass-roots sports, as well as promoting the sports in specific regions) and in a sustainable manner. Swiss-Ski and Swiss Paralympic athletes will also benefit from this partnership. Starting in the 2022/23 season, Sunrise will support twelve young talents – the Rising Stars of Swiss-Ski and Swiss Paralympic – through individual sponsorship, training, etc. Ellen Walther from Basel, who refused to give up on her passion after a serious snowboarding accident and now competes in international SBX and banked slalom races as a Paralympic athlete, as well as Bern-based Paralympic snowboarder Aron Fahrni, will receive support through the Sunrise Rising Stars program.
_______________ Swiss Paralympic is the national elite-sports committee for athletes with physical disabilities or visual impairments. The foundation selects the top Swiss athletes for the Paralympics as well as the World and European Championships. This also includes funding and organizing their participation in these events. As a national committee, the organization is a member of and contact for the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in Bonn, which is the counterpart of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The foundation is supported by the two associations PluSport Disabled Sports Switzerland and the Swiss Paraplegics Association.
