Early commissioning of Vila Acre wind farm (27 MW) in Brazil
Voltalia (Euronext Paris, ISIN code: FR0011995588), an international player in
renewable energies, announces the early commissioning of the 13 turbines at the
Vila Acre wind farm in Brazil, with a total capacity of 27.3 MW.
After winning the long-term power sale agreement at the November 2015
auctions(1), Voltalia launched the construction of Vila Acre in the fourth
quarter of 2016(2), planning to complete it in the third quarter of 2017. As
the 20-year long-term power sale agreement begins in November 2018, the Group
will receive revenues more than one year ahead of schedule. In the meantime, in
accordance with the auctions' terms, the electricity generated will be sold at
the same price as in the long-term contract.
The Vila Acre plant is located in the Serra Branca cluster, which has a total
potential of 1.2 GW and already includes the following plants in operation:
Areia Branca (90 MW), Vamcruz (93 MW) and Vila Pará (99 MW). The early launch
of the new plant demonstrates once again the relevance of Voltalia's industrial
approach: the Vila Acre plant benefits not only from the 52-kilometer
transmission line built in 2014 but also from the other connection facilities
held by Voltalia within the cluster.
Next on the agenda: Q2 2017 revenues, on July 19, 2017 (post trading)
