Voltalia wins 64 MW of new wind power projects in Brazil
Voltalia (Euronext Paris, ISIN code: FR0011995588), an international player in
renewable energies, announces today it has won 64 MW in the electronic auctions
organized by the Brazilian regulatory body on December 18, 2017.
Secured during the A-4 national auctions organized by ANEEL (the Brazilian
regulatory agency), the wind projects of Vila Paraíba II (32 MW) and Vila
Paraíba III (32 MW) represent a total of 64 MW, which constitutes 100% of the
winning wind projects. The 20-year contract provides a commissioning date for
no later than December 31, 2020.
Both projects lie within the Sera Branca cluster (in the state of Rio Grande do
Norte) developed by Voltalia thanks to its strong anchorage in the region. The
cluster includes the wind sites of Areia Branca (90 MW), Vamcruz (93 MW), Vila
Pará (99 MW) and Vila Acre (27 MW) that are already in operation.
These are the first auctions organized since 2015; Voltalia had then won the
Vila Acre project. Voltalia will also participate in the upcoming editions,
scheduled for December 20, 2017 and April 2018.
